Jesus is the expression of God’s infinite love for us. He is God made man, sent to earth to reconcile us to Himself and unite us with His plan.
The Bible teaches that Jesus came to free us from sin and its consequences*, and to replace them with God’s blessings and promises for us.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes shall not die but have eternal life. (John 3:16).
In our lives, we have all made decisions or had experiences that have distanced us from God, from His standards, from the meaning of the world He created, and this has not led to anything good.
But God offers us a solution: He offers us forgiveness for our sins and a new life with Him, through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross (1 John 5:11-12**). To receive this, all you need to do is respond to the call of Jesus Christ. Jesus asks us to repent (to change our attitude and our hearts by choosing God over sin) and to believe in the one who died and rose again for us.
I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6).
Your prayer can be formulated as follows:
Lord Jesus, I have heard your call and I accept it.
I acknowledge that you are the Messiah sent by God the Father, and that you died and rose again to save us from our sin and eternal death.
I ask you to forgive my sins and to make me a new creation, moved by your Holy Spirit.
Thank you for your immense love, for your work on the cross, and for the promise of eternal life in your kingdom.
I ask you to come into my life as my Savior and Lord.
In your name, Amen.
*for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
**And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.
